Motivation
The life of a ham radio wolmirstedt is often a long successful story. For example I start in 1982 with Y63UG, a club station member callsign. Later I became Y72XG in a new founded club station. After the fall of the berlin wall and the german reunion my new callsign is DL6MHW - up to now. More common reason for callsign change can be an upgrade of the license or the use of a shorter contest call. For sereous award collectors, aiming the top level of an award, it is quite important to use the QSOs of Ex-Calls. For instance for WAE-Top it is important to have "The Bear" - JW/B in your application. For EUDX you collect points for some years and it is bad to lose these point because you are changing your call from RW6MHW to R6HW. However - it is not a simple task to manage and check Ex-Calls. Whereas the checking of international license is still a manual task the checking of historical licenses or document need an experienced radio amateur and, of course, it is a manual task.
Overview
Our process constist of the following steps
- You carfully list your Calls and Ex-Calls
- You prepare material to proof your Ex-Calls
- You Contact the Special Manager and ask for confirmation of the Ex-Calls
- The Special Manager contacts you and aks for documents or additional information
- You send it
- The Special Manager set the Status for the Ex-Calls to + (plus)
- Your applictaion (Feb 2012, only WAE and EUDX) contains the QSLs of all prived calls
Please accept the difficult process. It is nesessary to avoid unathorized access to qso data.
Import of Ex-Call QSOs from LOTW is solved if there are seperate LOTW accounts for the calls.
List Ex-Calls
You can list your Ex-Calls with a form in DCL (see figure). You can instert a call with start and end date (e.g. 2199-12-31 for the current call) in the last row.
Edit and Delete
The default status is - (minus). This means unprooved. Only the Special Manager can set it to + (prooved). If you edit data of a proofed callsign the status is again unproofed.
The date of Y72XG was bad. So I correct it.
Write an E-Mail to the Special Manager
For the next months Wolfgang, DF8AA, will work as the Special Manager. He is an very experienced operator and an outstanding person. As the manager of the Work All Europa Award Wolfgang convinces the world by his careful work.
Only
- if the list of your Ex-Calls is carefully prepared and
- if you have some adequat documention and
- if you need the Ex-Calls for award application
write Wolfgang a short E-Mail (df8aa@darc.de) and ask him for confirmation of your listed Ex-Calls. He will contact you but please be patient.
Summary
Managing Ex-Calls is a quite complecated task. Ex-Calls in DCL is work in progress.
